The candidate must have a good academic record, and full training in methodologies, given the urgency in carrying out the project. The vacancy is open to Brazilians and foreigners.

Experimental approach:
Pharmaceutical preparations of heparin and LMWH and their derivatives will be subfractionated to select those with high antiviral, anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant potential. The studies will be carried out using advanced sequencing (MS / HPLC) and spectroscopic (NMR) techniques, to determine which structural characteristics of GAGs lead to high bioactivity (blocking Spike Protein binding, anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory activity) thus defining which saccharides they are viable inhibitors of viral binding and invasion, anticoagulants and anti-inflammatory drugs. These saccharides can be optimized and refined from biologically active subfractions of heparin and other GAGs already approved as pharmaceutical products. The PD researcher will also be involved in purifying recombinant protein expression and viral infection cell models. Experience in the areas of cellular and molecular biology will then be required.
